Thinking with Intention

If you sit with your thoughts and listen, you may well find that they are racing; trying far to hard to do something, while causing you to do nothing. They can race wild some days and in this course, you will learn to guide them, with your intention.

With my intention, I can choose what I will think and do,

Then I can be my own guide to, and be an example, to my ego.

I can show it that I believe in myself,

And bring myself, to my best health.

Ego will soon pick up this new flow,

And onwards, and upwards, together, we will go.

Intentional thinking means that you get to choose your thoughts with a purpose. You will shape and guide them, for your own, best good.

Why does it matter so much?

Well, once you know that you and your ego are a team, you will start to see that it is a winning team. Rather than you tripping up each other, working together will bring you a life that feels clear and strong.

How do you do it? It is all about meaning what you say, but also, saying things in the right way, so you never feel yourself to be a liar, or promised to do something that proves to be impossible. Take a look at these examples:

Example one: You fear an important meeting. But if you simply concetrate on what you know, and tell yourself –  “I will speak clearly, I will consider my every word. Then I will share my truth well.” Repeat this three times slowly. Feel the strength and certainty that this is a promise to yourself that you can hold to.

When you make such promises to yourself, make absolutely sure that you follow through.

Example two: Work is dragging you down. But if you can start thinking- “Each task builds my skill. I grow with each step. Repetition builds speed and precision, and automation. That gives me time for innovation” Let it sink deep in. This way, you see that this work is a way to the end-goal of that best you.

Think of how this could work for you, and the expertise that you can develop, will help you to better enjoy your work, but allow you to improve.

The danger of doubt

Self-doubt, however can break it all. That tiny voice that says, “I will fail.” can cause you to lose all motivation.

But think of it like this: If a part of you thinks you will fail, perhaps it has a better plan? Do not let those doubting thoughts pull your good thoughts down. Rather than see this doubt as a failure, see it as a challenge to find a better way.

Always remember, to be gentle with all of yourself, including those self-doubting thoughts.

Spot the doubt quickly- mindfulness will help. Name the doubt and explore it, but do not buy into it. Why are you doubting yourself? Can it be done better? Is this an old fear of something repeating?

Self-Trust

Self-trust can really help, but it needs time to build. It grows from your small wins. You journal, build good habits, and celebrate those tiny wins.

By thinking clearly, and staying focussed, each step will prove that you can change. Trust says, “I am coming to know my strengths.”

Trust in one’s self builds over time,

It takes much trying, hence that needed time.

It is not something that can be bought,

But, on this course, it will be taught

You will need to have patience, and wait

Until you start finding yourself in that self-trusting state.

In fact it is the opposite of that,

Lesson Affirmation

Intentions

Set yourself a firm intent to become the best self that you can be. Set another intention to trust yourself to deliver this best self. Add another intent, to avoid turning doubts into truth. Write these down. Put them in a place where you will see them, every day.
