What is Belief?

Belief

Belief is what the mind accepts as true, whether or not it is actually proven. It is the inner “yes, that’s how it is” feeling about an idea, a person, or a situation.

A belief is a thought you hold onto and trust, like “my friend cares about me” or “hard work pays off.” Beliefs can be based on strong evidence, weak evidence, or no clear evidence at all, but they still guide how a person feels and acts.

Beliefs shape behaviour because people tend to act in line with what they think is true. If someone believes they can learn and improve, they are more likely to keep trying; if they believe the opposite, they may give up quickly even when change is possible.
