Qualia are often considered to be ineffable, meaning that they cannot be fully captured or communicated by words or other symbols. Qualia pose a challenge for the scientific study of consciousness, as they seem to elude objective measurement and explanation.
Objectivity, in this landscape, usually means not a “view from nowhere,” but “as independent of any one person’s quirks as we can practically make it.”
