A religious experience is a personal and subjective encounter with the divine or the sacred. It may involve a sense of awe, wonder, peace, guilt, or dependence on a higher power. It may also be a source of knowledge or revelation that is not accessible by ordinary means. Different religious traditions have different ways of interpreting and validating religious experiences.
