mutuality is a concept in psychology that refers to the degree of reciprocity and mutual understanding between two or more individuals. mutuality can be seen as an indicator of the quality and depth of a relationship, as well as a predictor of its outcomes. mutuality can be measured by assessing how well the individuals share their thoughts, feelings, needs, and goals, and how they respond to each other’s expressions of these aspects. mutuality can also be influenced by factors such as trust, empathy, respect, and communication skills.

The term ego-bound, specifically, refers to someone that has largely "become" that mask, and considers it to be part of their authentic individuality.
